Tachometer (Instrument used in Mechanics)
“A tachometer (revolution-counter, RPM
gauge) is an instrument measuring the rotation speed of a shaft or disk, as
in a motor or other machine in RPM”.
This is
simple model of tachometer usually used in Vehicles and motors to measure their
speed. One of the best example of this instrument is the speed checking meter
on bikes,
Uses:
Usually
it is used in following fields..
1.
Automobiles, Trucks, Trackters etc
2.
Traffic Engineering
3.
Trains and light rail vehicles
4.
Analogues audio recording
5.
Textile industry
In
Textile industry it has most important applications. It is related to the speed
measurements and if we think with a cool mind, it looks like everything
distance, displacement, velocity, mass, angular quantities, etc are inter
related and related with speed to some how. Its most important application in
textile industry is in draughting zone during draughting of yarn r fabric. This
enables to control the speed of draughting rollers & to measure the draught
of the fabric or yarn. As draughting is the ratio of initial speed of the
material rolling through the rollers to that of final speed. By measuring
speeds with the help of tachometer we can find the draught and hence by speed
control draughting may be controlled.
These are the latest technology tachometer with
digital LCD display.
